DESCRIPTION:Bordertown Day will be held in Lineville\, Iowa June 26\, 2021. \nActivities will begin with breakfast from 8:30 to 10 o’clock. A car show will be on the north side of the square from 10 to 2 o’clock. \nA kiddie parade will line up on the north side of the square and start at 11:30. The regular parade will line up on the south end of town and begin at noon. The parade’s theme is “United We Stand.” \nDave Watson will perform after the parade. There will also be free watermelon on the square. Kiddie and adult games will start at 1 o’clock. \nRibeye steak sandwiches\, cheesy potatoes\, and green beans will be served for an evening meal from 6 to 8 o’clock. An ice cream social will begin at 6:30. \nThe band Hired Gun will perform from 7 to 11 o’clock. A fireworks display will be held at dark. \nLineville’s Bordertown Day will also include a bounce house\, vendor show\, and concession stand. Hourly drawings will be held throughout the day on June 26th. The final drawing will follow the fireworks.

DESCRIPTION:Join the Iowa Democratic Party during the Iowa State Fair Parade! \nHeld the night before the Iowa State Fair each year\, we will be among high school marching bands\, floats\, cool cars\, and special causes as we stroll through downtown Des Moines! \nLineup will begin at 5:15pm\, and the parade will begin at 6:15 p.m in downtown Des Moines on Wednesday\, August 11\, 2021. The parade route starts at the State Capitol Complex and marches west on Grand to 15th Street\, and the Iowa Democratic Party will be set up at Lot 18 on Des Moines Street and East 12th Street. \nOnly vehicles that will be traveling down the parade route will be allowed on the Capitol complex. Parade participants that will be riding with someone else or walking should park near the end of the route\, at the State Fairgrounds. There is an option of taking the free “D-Line” shuttle to the parade until 6:00pm\, and riders can find stops along Grand Avenue and Locust Street. \nThrowing or handing out candy\, water balloons\, promotional material or any other items from entry is prohibited. \nMasks are welcome! \nCome and join fellow Democrats as we march through downtown Des Moines\, and enjoy the celebration!
