An individual may contribute up to $2\,900 per election cycle; a couple may contribute $5\,800. A federal multi-candidate political committee (PAC) may contribute up to $5\,000 per election. Federal law prohibits contributions from corporations\, labor organizations\, banks\, federal contractors\, and foreign nationals who are not lawfully admitted for permanent residence.
